    Greece Spring Break Parent Interest Meeting

    An informational zoom meeting for parents to learn about an upcoming trip to Greece offered to cadets during Spring Break 2027, and your student is invited! This life-changing experience will help students build confidence, independence, and global perspective.     An action-packed day on an aerial adventure course overlooking the Chattahoochee River. Cadets
    Team Airsoft is an outdoor airsoft experience in woods of Georgia. Cadets who own their own airsoft gear are able to bring it with them to use on this event. Cadets who don't own gear have the ability to rent all the required gear to play, at the field.

    When?  Saturday, August 29 (7:30 am arrival, 4:00 pm departure)
     
    Where? Riverside campus
     
    What?  Raiders Meet – Parent Volunteers to score and grade competitions
    Provide instructions, time competition with stopwatch, record information on timesheets which are then taken to the scoring room
     
    Description?  Volunteers provide instructions to the teams, time them with a stopwatch, record times on scoresheets, route scoresheets to the scoring room, then grade the next team, and so on.
     
    Required?  No prior experience, but Volunteers must be able to attend a 20-minute training with 1SG Anderson the week prior to the event

  • RP: Winter Storm Update 01/26/26

    Parents, Grandparents, and Guardians,
    Riverside will operate with a delayed opening and in-person classes on Tuesday, January 27, with Employees and Day Cadets reporting at 9:30 a.m. if they are able to do so. The main roads in Gainesville are much improved today, but conditions in your area may be different.
    Please exercise your best judgment in determining when your cadet should return to school. Any cadet who cannot safely return to school before 0930 tomorrow will be granted an excused absence for Tuesday and allowed to make up any missed assignments. With that said, please communicate with your TAC Officer if your cadet will be absent (or late) on Tuesday.
    The uniform for cadets on Tuesday will be the Class B uniform. See below for the modified daily schedule:

  • RP: Winter Weather Update 01/25/26

     Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Guardians,
     
    Bottom line up front: we do not recommend that any cadet attempt to return to campus today.
     
    Winter Storm Fern has arrived and will be with us throughout much of the day. While we still have power, heat, and internet for the 90+ cadets who remain on campus, weather conditions are expected to deteriorate throughout the day followed by freezing temperatures overnight.
     
    With this circumstance in mind, we plan a digital learning day for Monday. Each teacher will be posting a new assignment in Google classroom today by 4 p.m. Ideally, these assignments will not require electricity or internet to complete.
     
    With that said, cadets are encouraged to check Google Classroom today while they still have power and internet to make note of the assignments they should complete on Monday. Cadets on campus will complete these assignments during structured time between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., during which times, teachers will be monitoring their email for questions (as possible). Cadets who are off campus may complete these assignments at other times but are reminded that teachers will be most available during the structured time.
     
    As the worst of the storm has yet to come, it is premature to make plans beyond Monday. We will be monitoring conditions and provide further guidance as soon as possible.
     
    Please know that the Academy is well-provisioned and prepared for this weather event. Our generators are topped off with fuel, our freezers are full of food, and dedicated staff remain on campus to care for your cadets. Should you have specific questions or concerns, please call the duty phone at 770-533-2960.

  • RP: Influenza Vaccine and Khaki Pants


    Influenza Vaccine-
    On Tuesday, September 30th, Influenza Vaccine are scheduled for Cadets.
    If you have already selected “Yes” in Magnus on the Influenza vaccine question, no further action is needed and your Cadet will automatically receive the shot.

    If you have already selected “No” in Magnus, no further action is needed and your Cadet will not receive the shot.

    If you would like to make a change to your previous selection, please let us know by September 29th so we can update our records.

    Khaki Pants- 
    Cadets new to Riverside this year will be required to purchase/bring to campus their own khaki pants and shorts (shorts for hot weather) to wear as part of their Class D leave uniform. They must be of a traditional chino style, not jeans/cargo pocket styles, and shorts must be on or above the knee.

    The gaming Truck is one of the biggest events for our cadets. They provide all current games, and now VR games. This is a great way to relax on the weekend and enjoy a day full of gaming. 
    Sept 14-Walmart & Luncheon 
    This trip is designed for all cadets who need and want to restock on any snacks that they would like for their rooms. Any cadet is able to attend free of charge. ORAH pass needed. 
    September 12-14- Student Affairs Weekend Activities
